The Work
In Development
We crash-land in 1801 Nigeria, where a young storyteller named Oladele believes stories are the only true medicine. This sweeping origin story of Othello travels from Africa to early America, confronting war, memory, and the sacrifices demanded by survival.
The Cicada
A monthly storytelling collective uplifting Black voices through personal narrative, music, and folklore. Inspired by the cicada’s ancestral return song, this program centers lived experience, memory, and cultural legacy—offering space for community healing, joy, and reflection.
Oladele or the forgotten song
Tinka, tayla, soulja, sai
A monthly reading series spotlighting new works by emerging Black playwrights while honoring lesser-known Black writers whose stories helped shape the field. Through performance and dialogue, we preserve cultural history while making new history together.
Four time-traveling Aunties converge on the ancestral plane for a ritual that unravels secrets, betrayals, and the generational weight of Black womanhood. A bold journey through magical realism, memory, and the question: what is “enough”?
The Recipe Book
The last black showgirl
Set in the 1940s, The Last Black Showgirl is a haunting Afro-futurist exploration of a Black woman’s body as spectacle and battleground—unraveling legacy, surveillance, and the ghosts that linger backstage.
